Good to know

Set courses and all-you-can-drink

Group bookings in Japan usually mean a set course, often with an all-you-can-drink plan (nomihodai). It keeps the budget predictable and the kitchen prepared. We'll tell you exactly what's included.

Time limits are normal

Group plans often come with a time limit for the table. It's normal and not rude, if your group likes to linger, we'll look for a place with a longer slot or a second venue nearby.

Final headcount

Restaurants usually want a final headcount a few days ahead, since food is prepared for the group. Tell us the number as soon as it's settled, and message us if it changes, we'll call.

Cancellation fees

Group cancellation fees are common, especially close to the date. We ask about the restaurant's policy before booking and tell you, so there are no surprises.

What we can't do

  • We don't pay deposits or give card details on your behalf.
  • We can't guarantee availability on very busy nights, such as end-of-year party season.
  • We don't negotiate prices; we tell you what's on offer.
